First off.....

OK, well I am a major Harry Potter fan, and I already have one blog started on this account but I just couldn't help starting a blog dedicated to Harry Potter. I'm a huge fan and I would love sharing my thoughts about it with other people. I know the title of this blog says 'Who Knows???' but that's because I just now thought of the idea after I made that title, so I need to change that...lol. So back to Harry Potter, if you haven't read all seven books don't continue to read these blogs, I might have spoilers in there. Just a fair warning. :) In the blogs I'm going to start various discussions and I want you to tell me what your opinion is on the subject. I'd thought I'd start of with Snape. I've always hated Snape because of the way he treats Harry through out the books, and when I read the Half Blood Prince I really loathed him, but then I read the ending to the Deathly Hallows and I'm not to sure what to think of him, I still hate him, but yet, in a way he's kind of a hero isn't he? And in the end Harry named his middle son Albus Severus, so I kinda think of him now of a man who died a hero's death but was still the most unbearable man alive, (second from Lord Voldemort of course)...So on that note, what do you think of Snape? Please respond!

  2. Okay what do I think of Snape? LOL! I could write an essay on our devilish potions master. Lets see- well first Im going to exclude the fact that I actually saw SS first instead of reading the books. I know im so bad. But from a book point of view lets begin. Okay at first in the books I thought "what is wrong with this pale greasy dude? Why does he hate Harry? What did HP ever do to him?" After about the end of SS the book I started to realize that perhaps there was more to this Snape character than meets the eye. Sure he is a pessimistic git and loathes the ground HP walks on and all, but there had to be more to that. You don't just "save" someones life that you dont care for. So I suppose from that part on I always taought that Snape was good. From the get go after that I seriously put all my dragon egss in one basket and prayed nightly and daily that Snape was good. hehehe!!! Lots more about him. What a complex character? Later on through the series after we got more glimpses of Snape, I was happy! There were two paths to take. The ones whom hated him, and those who liked him. Both having great cases against him. I admit that at the end of HBP I was so upset that I wanted to hate him. But for whatever reason I had grown fond of Sevi and was protective of him. Yes I know its a fictional character but still. Perhaps myslef could somewhat relate to some of his issues. Just a couple. Granted I wanted to curse him to oblivion and back, but I always swore that he was good. At the end of DH I cried so hard for the other tragic hero of HP. Someone whom was not able to love his one true love openly, and never really felt like he belonged. I suppose that perhaps deep down there is a little bit of Snape in all of us. After the end of DH I felt that a part of me had died, and when Harry named his one son Albus Severus I truly felt that Severus finally had some respect and even love from someone he never thought possible. Harry. Well there are days that I miss Severus dearly and if only we were able to know more about him. He is such a complex character but in the end I believe him to be a good man. Hope you enjoyed!

  3. Thanks for the comment!! I don't know how to reply other than this so hopefully you see it.

That is a very interesting pov, and admittedly you are the first person I have talked to that liked Snape, but I do agree with you on some of what you said, he did kinda become a hero at the end of the series and he is a very complex and mysterious character, and I too wish I knew more about him. :D
